Dark is science fiction mystery series on Netflix which follows the events of four families when a child goes missing. The series is set in a fictional German town and focuses on time travel conspiracy post the child goes missing. It stars Louis Hofmann, Oliver Masucci, Jördis Triebel and is co-created by Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese. The series was awarded with Grimme-Preis Award for television series.

The story is well written and well planned. It runs smoothly at an even pace. Dark was released in 2017 and ended in 2020 having three seasons in total. The creators announced the third season as final season and planned winding up the mystery in the last season. The series can get confusing in between as it progresses with other timelines simultaneously. Switching back and forth between the timelines can be difficult for some people, however by the end it all untangles. That’s the power of good writing.
Dark is an intelligent watch that demands your full attention, it was rated 8.8 on IMDb and liked by 95% users on Rotten Tomatoes and Google. It is perfect binge worthy series which will hold your attention till the very last minute and will not fail to amaze you. It won’t be an overstatement to call it one of the best work in Scientific Fiction genre.
Will there be a fourth season of Dark?
Though the creators don’t seem to have any plans to come up with a season four yet, there’s nothing stopping them from pulling out another timeline or time loop. Since the series follows a self created fictional universe, it’s always possible to weave a new story around from the open-ended, unanswered loopholes. The fate of a show always depends on the popularity and the love the fans shower upon it. There’s always a chance that their demand makes the creators weave out some other exciting plot line.
